I decided to have another go at M31, but no auto-guiding. The view is rotated to match wikipedia.
M31 Andromeda Galaxy
Canon 450D: 58 x 90secs at ISO800; No auto-guiding. Having now got my 4" refractor for auto-guiding I intend to step up the exposure and try and get the orientation better so that I capture the outlying satellite galaxies M32 and M110. Just waiting for some decent dark clear skies - so what's new? :)
